I'm with you here, Bruce and John--
I first fell in love with the Velocette Venom in the mid-60's, not to mention the BSA 441 Victor, Norton Manx, Royal Enfield... you get the idea. There is something about a big thumper that appeals to me.
I've noticed HD riders (sorry, Hogryder) who thumb their noses at other v-twins. To the best of my knowledge, Harley hasn't made a "genuine" single since 1934 (Hummers and Buells don't count), so nobody can call the Savage a Harley-clone.
And, for the record, I just went out in the garage, leaned against the cage, and starred at mine for a bit. It's not just a bike, it's also a passion.
